Heat pump, condenser or vented?

A heat pump dryer uses the least electricity and is gentle on clothes, but dries more slowly and usually costs more. In a condenser dryer the water collects in a tank or runs to a drain, so no hose to the outside is needed. A vented dryer blows warm, damp air out through a hose to a window or wall. It is usually the simplest and cheapest type.

What capacity should I choose?

Usually a drying capacity equal to your washing machine's, or slightly larger, so a full wash fits into the dryer in one load.

Can a dryer be installed on top of the washing machine?

In most cases yes, on top of a front loader, using a stacking kit that fits both models. Check the specifications and the manufacturer's instructions.

What do moisture sensors do?

Moisture sensors measure how damp the laundry is and stop the dryer when it is dry. Drying doesn't run longer than needed, which saves electricity and is kinder to clothes.
