Questions about hobs

Here you'll find gas, induction and ceramic hobs, as well as narrow domino hobs. You can filter by hob type, number of burners, surface, colour and width.

Gas, induction or ceramic?

Gas hobs are the familiar choice and work with any pot. Induction hobs heat the pot directly: they are fast and efficient, and the surface around the pot stays relatively cool. They need induction-compatible cookware. A ceramic hob has an electric heating element under the glass. It works with any flat-bottomed pot, but heats up and cools down more slowly.

How do I know if a pot works on induction?

Hold a magnet to the bottom of the pot. If it sticks firmly, the pot is suitable. Many pots also carry an induction coil symbol.

How many burners do I need?

A 60 cm hob usually has 4 burners, and wide 70–90 cm hobs have 5 or 6. Domino hobs, about 30 cm wide, have 2 burners or cooking zones. They are fitted on their own in a small kitchen, or next to another hob. A strong wok burner is useful for fast cooking at high heat.

What should I check before installation?

The worktop cut-out dimensions, which are in the specifications. For electric and induction hobs, also check the type of electrical connection (single-phase or three-phase) and confirm with an electrician that your circuit is suitable. Gas hobs are connected by a licensed gas technician.
