Questions about freezers

Upright or chest freezer?

An upright freezer has drawers, makes it easy to organise and find things, and takes up less floor space. A chest freezer opens from the top and usually holds more food for its size. It also keeps the cold better when opened, because the cold air doesn't spill out.

No Frost or De Frost?

A No Frost freezer doesn't build up ice and never needs defrosting. A De Frost freezer needs defrosting from time to time, but it is usually simpler and cheaper.

Can a freezer stand in a storeroom or on a balcony?

It depends on the model. The specifications sometimes give a "climate class". A class T (tropical) freezer is designed to work in a hot room too, which matters in a storeroom or an enclosed balcony in an Israeli summer. If the class isn't listed, check with the manufacturer.

What is an integrated freezer?

A freezer that fits inside a kitchen cabinet and takes a cabinet door, so it blends in with the other cabinets. Check the recess dimensions in the specifications.
